GEM Excel Solutions, LLC is an All-Small Mentor-Protégé Joint Venture certified and approved by the Small Business Administration. The Mentor-Protégé relationship was established between GEM Technologies, Inc. (mentor) and Excel Staffing Companies (protégé) following more than a decade of successful experience supporting nuclear security, environmental cleanup, and science and research missions for the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and the Department of Energy (DOE).

GEM Excel Solutions has a 12-year history working together to meet DOE/NNSA’s technical and professional service needs supporting clients such as LANS, Triad National Security, and N3B at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, New Mexico as well as Y-12 National Security Complex (Y-12) in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Furthermore, GEM and Excel offer corporate experience supporting NNSA production plants and laboratory operations, as well as other federal (USACE, NAVFAC, GSA), state (State of New Mexico, State of Tennessee), local (City of Albuquerque, City of Santa Fe), and commercial and non-profit organizations.

With this Mentor-Protégé Agreement in place, the GEM Excel Solutions Joint Venture is positioned to offer our clients high standards of expertise, flexibility, and responsiveness. GEM and Excel employees have collectively received five NNSA NA-50 Excellence Awards since 2018 for safe, timely, and team-oriented work in support of operations at the Y-12 National Security Complex, the Transuranic Waste Facility, and the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant. Other accolades include a 2020 Letter of Appreciation from a division leader at LANL for outstanding work during the COVID-19 pandemic, a Minority Business Excellence award in 2020, and regional Top Workplace Awards in 2019 and 2021.
